2011When we find the internal styles and practices that match our inner nature, our prakriti, meditation feels natural and we relish it. Meditation becomes an internal vacation and healing Temple that helps us balance our energies and prepare for loving action.
Meditation is internal asana, a flow between pratyahara, dharana, dhyana, and samadhi, over and over. We learn it by immersion, flowing through the poses in our subtle bodies. Pratyahara happens when we find something interesting to sense in the world within. Dharana is tenderly holding that focus, dhyana is appreciating, and samadhi is when we join with and melt into our focus. These are instinctive and natural motions in our inner world. $25

Friday Feb. 11th 7:15-9:15 The Radiance SutrasWith Lorin Roche, Camille Maurine and Steve Gold.
Steve Gold will serenade us with one of the Radiance Sutras he has put to music, and Camille will perform Devi’s Questions - the invocation by the Goddess that creates the transmission of yoga.
We begin exploring the teachings of the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, a classic text describing 112 yogas for touching the sacred right here, right now, in the midst of daily life. The Bhairava Tantra sings of passionate serenity, in which all your senses are alive to the vibrancy of the world, with a foundation of inner centeredness. In yoga the senses are called the Indriyas, a word that suggests something divine and powerful. The indriyas are the temples in which the divine in us is in contact with the divine around us. We will explore the senses and instincts that guide us in meditation.
Saturday Feb 12th
1:30-6:00 The Radiance Sutras
This is an afternoon of joyous practice with movement, sound, breath, and meditation. The practices include mudra (prana-infused gestures), pranayama (breath), mantra (sound), and dhyana (meditation). The emphasis is on spontaneity and playfulness, so that meditation becomes a natural part of the rhythm of your life. You don’t have to be good or virtuous to practice these methods. The Sutras focus on catching yourself wherever you are – restless, lonely, loving, tired, excited, nostalgic, or quiet. Dive into your life essence from there, and emerge renewed. The workshop is space and time to find the approach that speaks to you because it matches your individuality, inner nature, and outer life. We will be immersed in direct experience with these joyous and life-affirming practices.
